Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Deep mahogany, almost black with a frothy beige head. Lovely chocolate pudding aroma. The taste is also chocolate pudding with a hint of liquorice and pppery spice. Creamy mouthfeel. Lovely stout.

Snagged a bottle from Gravity Station in Cardiff. Choclatey aroma, a bit roasted. A bit of molasses coffee taste. Thinner than expected, but thick enough to be a stout. Overall good as a go-to stout while out.

Bottle. Black body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of berries, roasted malt and soy sauce. Flavour of dark chocolate, cloves, treacle and Marmite. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Not quite as complex and drinkable as Id hoped it would be.

1/3 pint pour from cask into tulip at Hanging Bat in Edinburgh. Black, opaque, attractive foamy tan head with nice lacing and good retention. Coffee on the nose with a bit of roastiness. Body is much lighter than Id expect for the style. Surprisingly thin. Taste is great. Very roasty, coffee, dark bread, a hint of raisin and dark fruit. A very enjoyable stout-- well defined flavors, well balanced, but nothing too extreme. Nice and drinkable overall.

Bottle from The Bottle Lab, Leek. 7.5%ABV. Pours a deep brown to black colour with a thick, foamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, raisin, some molasses, a little caramel, slight coffee and subtle cherry. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate, a little whisky, slight molasses, liquorice, subtle wood and dark fruits. Full bodied and soft carbonation. A warming, lingering, earthy, chocolatey bitterness in the finish. For a 7.5 and by the aroma, I was expecting this to be abit more mellowed than other imperial stouts but its a big, boozy, earthy beer. Surprising and decent.

At just on cool and into a snifter. Inky black with fine carbonation and a rocky, inch of off-white foam atop. Plums and dark berries amid notes of milk chocolate, molasses, road tar and liquorice on the nose. Thick, luscious, silky smooth mouthfeel. Long smoky, bitter malt and hop finish. Ample chocolate, liquorice and woody notes with a vinous sharpness and tang to the side of thee tongue. Alcohol is quite pronounced but adds flair. this is moorish stuff. A slow sipping stout. Nice!!
