Bottle. Dark bronze with a small head. Unusual combination of hops with a background maltiness. Reminded me of a cross between an IPA and a brown ale. Another nice one from this brewery.

Bottled (from AbM). Deep amber (close to copper) colour with a small bubbly head. Aroma is berries, some floral and grassy notes along with some mild caramel malts and also some wood. Flavour is mild wood, floral, berries, grassy and mild toasted notes. As it warms up it gets slightly metallic notes in the flavour as well. Not your typical "brilliance" in BBF beers.

500ml bottle from Ales By Mail

BBE 24/09/13 - Pours dark red with a bubbly white head. Aroma of metallic notes, some hints of berries, grassy hops and caramely malts. Taste is sweet, malty and grainy with some hints of berries and grassy hops. Finish is dry and grainy with some roastiness. A bit unbalanced and messy.

Bottle. Pours dark ruby red with big off white head. Zesty pine aroma little metallic with berries. Taste of slightly nutty caramel with pine and berries. Medium body and sweetness with quite a nice bitter finish. Nice

50 cl bottle. BBE 24.09.2013.
Pours dark red color with a small rapidly dissipating head. Lots of berries and currants on the nose, some grassy notes, mild floral hops and wood. Flavor is also dominated by berries, a bit juicy even. Some bitter malts, nuts and citrus fruits also. Goose berries on the aftertaste. Slick palate with a bitter finish. Nothing special.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear medium to dark brown red colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, fruity, moderate to heavy hoppy, wood, sour notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, woody, hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121208]

500 ml bottle.
Pours a dark ruby amber colour with a white foamy head. Aroma of strong sour berries, plastic and some fruitiness. Flavour of sweet malts, sour berries, floral hops, grass and hay. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Pungent sour finish. Has some off-flavours and truly not my kind of a beer. Nice bitterness, though.

50cl bottle, bbe 13/09/13. Dark mahogany, thick beige head. Aroma is perfect, exotic fruits, pine and herbal notes. Strong malty body, with piney hops kicking in later. Bitter finish, quite short. Medium body. Very veery tasty.

Nicely balanced caramel and biscuit malt with a piney hop note throughout. Dry bitterness with an earthy spice to it. Very pleasing to the palate.

500ml, bottle conditioned. Excellent aroma of fresh hops with an underlying caramel sweetness. This follows through in terms of flavour but with the addition of a little bit of cough syrup. Medium sweet and medium bitter. An excellent and refreshing beer.
