3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Brown with an almost crimson hue. Thin head. Lovely waft of blackcurrants and raspberries and a bit of maltiness, Taste is malty with berry fruits, but with a strong bitter finish from some nice hops - not too dry though. Slightly let down by a fizzy carbonation - if it was a little thicker and smoother then this would be ace.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
50cl bottle. Deep copper with big off white head and plenty of lacing. Aroma gives lots of caramel, some pine resin, nuts, a touch of grapefruit, woody notes. Taste is caramel driven, with some fairly astringent pine, bit of grapefruit, more herbal/woody notes. Quite a bitter bite to it. Caramel character never gets too sweet thankfully. Akin to a rougher, more powerful 5am Saint - pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle. Very nice clear crimson / ruby red colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Resinous and slightly herbal hop aroma, hints of grass and hay. Taste is minimally biting, bitter, herbal and grassy hoppy, some hay, very weak caramel malty basis, very cautious hints of red berries. Slightly unbalanced, lacks some caramel malt sweetness; really funky hop selection as well.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Dark bronze with a small head. Unusual combination of hops with a background maltiness. Reminded me of a cross between an IPA and a brown ale. Another nice one from this brewery.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled (from AbM). Deep amber (close to copper) colour with a small bubbly head. Aroma is berries, some floral and grassy notes along with some mild caramel malts and also some wood. Flavour is mild wood, floral, berries, grassy and mild toasted notes. As it warms up it gets slightly metallic notes in the flavour as well. Not your typical "brilliance" in BBF beers.
