Cybercat (423), Georgia, USA Jul 4, 2008 This comes out of the tap a rich mahogany brown with a fine-bubbled head. Aroma is strong, spicy, malty, with a hint of hops. Flavor is rich and smooth, with hints of hops, caramel, smoke and cloves; the sweet nicely balances the hop bitterness. It goes down lively and sassy.

Clear brown amber with some decent head. Smell is super light dough. Flavor is strange funky sweet that isn’t very appetizing. Low to medium carbonation. Not great. Not horrid. acrdz (4376), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 8, 2008 Draft at Falling Rock. Huge foamy tan head, body is the color of dark purple/brown and mostly clear with red light at the bottom. Carbonation is far too high, and the body on this beer is far too weak. Has a distinct note of diacetyl, some mild, buttery scotch and some pale and pallid herbal spices. Vegetal at times, very pale and bland with a thin texture. Disappointing. lb4lb (1453), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 30, 2008 Pours a clear maroon color with a light beige head. Smell is malty, perhaps tart and caramelly. Taste is smooth, malty, lightly creamy and faintly peaty. Creamy, soft body with light carbonation. Decent for the style, but I don’t typically care much for it. GreatLibations (1299), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA May 6, 2008 Pours a deep ruby amber color with a shallow froth that recedes to a thin ring of lace. Aromas of fresh baked French toast. Medium nectar with good carbonation. Defined baked bread malts hit the spot after a deluge of day old hot wings after a long night at the shop. Like it says it’s not too rich. I would say the commercial description is honest enough and I’ll leave it at that. Nutty, mildly roasted malt backbone that is not sweet at all. Goes great with these wings. The finish is bittered nicely. A very good specimen.
