COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Laughing Lab has a nourishing maltiness that comes from six specialty malts. Its nutty, roasted flavor is mildly sweet, but not too rich. Smooth and luscious!

This beer is served all over the Colorado Sprinsg area where I live and I find it very dissapointing, I like other Bristol beers much better. Taste falls flat for me.

From notes. First reviewed 9/20/2011. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Laughing Lab pours a full amber brown color, mostly transparent except for the darkest parts of the glass, with a small off-white white cap. Caramel malt, some bruised red apple and orchard fruit, toasted grains, and a bit of woodiness all create the aroma. The taste consists of caramel sweetness that sits on top of toasted grains. Muted orchard fruits precede a soft wood flavor and a lightly citric finish. There is a soft creamy feel stemming from a fairly light carbonation. Medium bodied. I thought this was a decent beer, but so far nothing in this style has truly inspired me.

Bottle thanks to Aaron. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose/taste of nuts, roasted malt, barley, grain and caramel. Medium body. Slightly dry and grainy mouth feel.

Hazy brownish copper, with an off-white head that goes away too fast. Aroma is a little faint, but there is some nutty, raisin-y maltiness in the nose, with a touch of peat and...banana? Taste is balanced but light. Got some cereal grains, light cocoa, raisins, and peat, pretty balanced by a quiet bitterness, but still lets darkish toast malts shine through the ending. Not shabby, but nothing worth buying a 6-er of.

Not a bad scottish ale. Nicely done smooth finish but nothing over the top to give this a glowing recommendation. I will try this one again. I don’t think my rating will change.

This ale poured a brownish, caramel colour with a quick living, off white, soapy head. To the nose there are scents of caramel, butter, toast and a very mild grassy scent. First swig was smooth and medium sweet. A little watery with flavours of toasty caramel, dough and a very slight taste of smoke. Finish is thick and sweet with malty flavours and a hint of hopps lingering.

Draft @ taproom. Deep mahogany color. Aroma is hard to pull. Later it emerges as a sticky toffee pudding type smell, which is nice. Beautiful caramel sugars in the flavors, and a mild smokiness. A good surprise.

Dark amber. Nice malty-earthy aroma. Caramel on the plate - earthy and sweetish with mild brown sugar notes.

Appearance: Brown, with dark ruby accenting. About an inch of tan head with decent retention, which slowly laces around the glass. Smell: Sweet and malty, and a hint of roasted malt. Nothing to say about hops here. Not as full of a smell as dark beers often have, but it’s nice. Taste: Malty and caramel-y, some more of the toasted smell comes through with the taste. Not much alcohol hanging around, but the taste lingers for some time. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and soft. You could probably argue that it’s slightly chewy. Drinkability: Pretty high. It doesn’t have such a strong flavor that you need to recharge afterwards, and it tastes very smooth. Despite not kicking your taste buds, it certainly has a nice flavor to it. A good poster boy for the brand.
