Commercial Description:
Laughing Lab has a nourishing maltiness that comes from six specialty malts. Its nutty, roasted flavor is mildly sweet, but not too rich. Smooth and luscious!

A pretty good scottish brew.... not to over the top in any way, but unique in a roasty toasty kind of toffee taste....

Had a growler of this when I went to Colorado Springs to visit one of my best friends the spring of 03. Surprised to find it this lowly rated as I enjoyed it immensely when I was out there. Of course I was stoned out of my gourd the whole time...

6-29-08 bottle <br /> Clear brown amber with some decent head. Smell is super light dough. Flavor is strange funky sweet that isn’t very appetizing. Low to medium carbonation. Not great. Not horrid.

Draft at Falling Rock. Huge foamy tan head, body is the color of dark purple/brown and mostly clear with red light at the bottom. Carbonation is far too high, and the body on this beer is far too weak. Has a distinct note of diacetyl, some mild, buttery scotch and some pale and pallid herbal spices. Vegetal at times, very pale and bland with a thin texture. Disappointing.

This comes out of the tap a rich mahogany brown with a fine-bubbled head. Aroma is strong, spicy, malty, with a hint of hops. Flavor is rich and smooth, with hints of hops, caramel, smoke and cloves; the sweet nicely balances the hop bitterness. It goes down lively and sassy.

Pours a clear maroon color with a light beige head. Smell is malty, perhaps tart and caramelly. Taste is smooth, malty, lightly creamy and faintly peaty. Creamy, soft body with light carbonation. Decent for the style, but I don’t typically care much for it.
