Vintage 2005. A hazy amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet hoppy - Cascade giving it notes of grapefruit, but also with strong notes of alcohol and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with lots of caramel notes, but also a strong alcohol note, which lends the beer a metallic tinge. Toward the end the alcohol leaves a slight burn on the tongue and in the top of the throat.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a hazy amber with a small, off-white head. Soft caramel aroma. Very full body and sweet with distinct caramel and a very aromatic hopping. A very smooth and pleasant Barley Wine. 211006

(Bottle, courtesy of Kevin) Pours a cloudy amber-brown body with a spare beige head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, toasted malt, and toffee. Flavor of toasted malt, cocoa, rye, fruit, and toffee.

Bottle, 12oz. It pours a more or less clear body, brown in color and a small, off-white to light beige head. Alcohol, citrus, pine cones, dried fruits, caramel and alcohol on the nose. Complex and pleasant. The flavor has much the same found in the aroma. Full-bodied, warming and sweet on the palate. Low on carbonation, but that’s pleasant. Complex flavor too, with caramel, citrusy, piney hops, bitterness and a meaty touch. Lasting finish. A tasteful, delightful beer that lasts and pleases. Nice. 110301

(12oz bottle, thanks blindeyedbetty) Small off-white head atop hazy light copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, some Cognac, grapefruit/floral, wood. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some alcohol/Brandy, light wood. Medium body, low carbonation, thin for what it holds.

750ml bottle-pours an off white bubbly head and murky orange/amber color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel/molasses/brown sugar, pine hops. Taste is medium malt-caramel/molasses/brown sugar, pine/resin hops and some lemon, some alcohol. Nice sipping. Thanks bitterbill & jwc215 for trading this.

11th October 2008. GABF. Sourish malt. The hops are there but don’t dominate. Aromatic tasty barleywine but not outstanding.

Bottle from Supermarket Liquors in Fort Collins, CO. Pours dark amber with a foamy 1 finger beige/tan head. Sort of a date aroma. Near full bodied with carbonation I am at a loss to describe. Flavor is dark brown fruit and dark brown malt. Finishes a bit more sweet than not. Goes down all too well.
