Tap at brewery. Clear light amber with a thin spotty head. Smells almost of a meaty herbal spaghetti sauce...not sure what to make of that. Herbal hops, a touch of rosemary, earthy toffee malts, and just a tone of sausage or something on the nose. Flavor is grainy and herbal with a nice balancing bitterness, finishing off-dry with an aftertaste of floral hop resin. Not shabby, just a little confusing.

Bottle thanks to bman113vr. The smell is very caramel, sweet, honey, and malts. The look is clear, golden in color, and has a small off white head. The taste is malts, grains, some sweetness, and hops.

Rated in 2010 (Backlog) - Amber in color with an average sized off-white head. Aroma is of light hops and caramel. Taste is of apple, caramel, and light woody hops.

12 ounce bottle from variety pack. Pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, grain, citrus and piney hops. Taste is piney hops, yeast and caramel malt. Fairly well balanced. Easy to drink.

Draft, Brew at the Zoo Benefit in Denver. Poured a clear orange color. Couldn’t muster any more than a filmy off white head. No lace was left behind. Aroma was of flowery hops and fresh cut grass. Dry on the tongue up front with delicate malty caramel sweetness at the end which lingers.

In the bottle at the 2004 Crescent Moon Vintage Beer Tasting. Nice! A great example of the style. Red amber in color. Very hoppy. I love visiting this brewpub as the folks there are super nice. I hope to get back there soon and rate all their beers.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2004 Smooth and soft mouthfeel. Malts had elements of caramel, cookie dough and toast. Nice hop aromas and some balancing bitterness. Well balanced beer. More like an English bitter than an American Pale Ale. Pretty easy to drink; nice session beer.

tap at brewery-pours a light copper hue with minimal white head. piney hop aroma but not the basic cascade note thing going. slighty green and earthy hop flavors and nice toasty malts make presence in the flavors. More an ESB than a pale ale. Nice refreshing body that has a very clean finish. nice pale ale!

Pours a copper body with a good head. Pithy, piney hop aroma fills out the aroma. A bit of pale malt flavor in there as well. Not bad. Will suffice in a hop jones.

12 oz. bottle. Bottled 01/2014. Pours a medium, ivory, well retained hed, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy, dark amber (SRM 15) body....nose is light pine, resin, citrus peel from the hops, light toasted malts with toast, biscuit tones, very light hints of toffee/caramel, minimal esters from the yeast....taste is light toffee/caramel sweetness with cereal tones. leading to a lightly floral, pine, resin, citrus peel moderate bitterness, minimal esters.....mouth feel, body is light of medium, clean light acid finish, low carbonation, with a clean smooth finish. This is a nicely balanced example of the style. It is a bit light on malt and hop complexity and could use more in both backbones. Would suggest adding more Cascade for the dry hopping, and a bit of crystal/caramel malt to up malt complexity and body. BJCP 7/3/15/4/6.
