Courtesy JMFG, know that. Pours a deep roasted brown, little if any head formation. Aroma is subtly smoked, with a roasted/herbal quality coming through. The flavor is harsh an acrid, the smoke is non-existant. The mouthfeel is a bit off putting.

Aug 16, 2008 Pours a dark brown and lightly cloudiness from a bomber. Lasting beige head. Smell is lightly malty and subtle smoke as stated. Taste is a touch of roastiness. Flavor, aside from the light smokiness is a bit thin. Very light bodied, which detracts some. Thin light smoked beer like taste. Slightly below average but still definitely drinkable.

Jul 27, 2008 22oz bottle-Pours a dark black body with a nice loose tan head. Aroma of smoke and coffee. Taste of the same with the smoke being more prominent on the back end. Fairly thin for a porter and was expecting more. Not bad.

Jun 29, 2008 Dark brown color with a white head that quickly diminishes into a small collar. Very faint aromatics overall, a very light touch of malt character (some smoke, and a very light hint of chocolate and roast. Thin bodied beer. Flavor is also very muted, with some light notes of rubber, a touch of smoke, some fruit and some roast. I was expecting more from such a high quality brewer.
