| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 10, 2005 this was my welcome to cooler climates after having left Texas in 108 degree heat and hitting Denver when it was in the 50’s at night. Read other reviews for better detail, as for me, this was fine. Maybe not SUPER fine, but it was a nice welcome and a very decent stout. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Picth black pour, producing a smallish light brown head. Obviously chocolatey nose, sweet and milky. A nice malty fruit base (grapes, berries) gets shied by the impressive hoppy citrus bite. Quite dry for an oatmeal stout, rich enough that I can see why most people enjoy it a lot, but it remains a bit too hoppy and sour/citric for my stout preferences. Round mouthfeel, medium-full bodied, slightly astringent, quite intense carbonation. argo0 (6891), Washington DC, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 21, 2005 Bottle into tulip glass. Sometime in 2004. Smells like a musty doilie, and yet not totally bad. Black in the glass with a small head that dissipates mostly, shows lacing with small tight bubbles. Oatmeal is very evident in the flavor and the grainy texture. There might actually be oatmeal floating in here. This is perhaps the oatmeal stout that is truest to the name in my experience. For some reason, this beer reminds me of Iowa. I like Iowa better, though. 1FastSTi (2557), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2005 12oz bottle bottled in the 5th week of October. (That would make this a Halloween Winter Warlock as the only day in the 5th week of Oct. last year was the 31st). Pours to a brown head with spotted lacing. The body is really dark brown and is opaque, however, I can make out whitish specs of particles in the body. The aroma is coffee, raisins, and peppermint and/or spearmint. It kinda has that numbing aroma like when you smell peppermint oil. The flavor initially hits with a smooth milk chocolate that finishes out with an oatmeal, light coffee, and minty flavor. The palate has a lively carbonation to it but comes of like thick water more than creamy milk. This is good, but there are many better sweet stouts I like better.
