Interesting aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Good flavor of chocolate, roasted malt and some dryness, the malt is very interesting in there. The body is light with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. A pleasant oatmeal stout. TaktikMTL (2771), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

Légère présence de café en arrière goût. (Rating #1602) MartinT (5050), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Evocative coffee notes seep from the roasted and bready malts, as citrusy hops converse nearby. This Stout’s fruity perfume and cohesive maltiness makes for a satisfying example of the style.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam stands atop the darkest brown.
-Some sweet chocolate renders complexity to the malt profile.
-Roasted malt bitterness is decent, aptly drying out the residual sweetness.
-The body is chewy yet drinkable, very nice for the style.

Pours a very dark, cola brown color; fluffy, light tan head with medium-bubbled lacing. Creamy, milk and bitter chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma; slightly reserved. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: bitter chocolate and lightly roasted malts, first and foremost; a very creamy, slightly sweet stout; round and pleasant in the mouth (I like my stouts like I like my women?); very drinkable, with a solid chocolate and herbal hop bitterness; medium, slightly bitter finish, showing chocolate and soft lingering herbal hops. ryan (1775), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

A bit cold that holds down the nose. Nice, malty tones with a small, hop background. Full mouth and goes down very easy. Good winter beer. tytoanderso (1386), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Aroma of lightly roasted malt, toasted vanilla, charred marshmallow and alcohol. Pours opaque brown with a thin khaki head. Not nearly as bitter and astringent on the tongue as the nose would lead me to believe. Sweeter roasted malt, creamy oatmeal and warming alcohol. Smooth. Creamy, medium bodied, good amount of carbonation. Finishes with some charred malt and alcoholic warmth.
