(draft) Black body with small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, light cherry, roast. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, cherry, grapefruit, some coffee. Roasty and coffee in the finish. Smooth full body, some alcohol. Big beer, sipping not chugging.

Picth black pour, producing a smallish light brown head. Obviously chocolatey nose, sweet and milky. A nice malty fruit base (grapes, berries) gets shied by the impressive hoppy citrus bite. Quite dry for an oatmeal stout, rich enough that I can see why most people enjoy it a lot, but it remains a bit too hoppy and sour/citric for my stout preferences. Round mouthfeel, medium-full bodied, slightly astringent, quite intense carbonation.

12oz bottle acquired in trades with Kevin & BeerandBlues2 (thanks!). Poured a dark, dark brown (almost black) color with a large sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, lactose, and vanilla. Tastes of roast, chocolate, and vanilla. Lacing left on the glass.

Pours a nice darkness with a thick, well-lacing light tan head. Semi-sweet and dry roasted malt aroma. Body starts with a nice thickness and plenty of caramel malt flavor and a more roasty lactic finish. Nicely balanced and a good fullness of flavor. A very nice sweet stout. Thanks snowtiger!

I think this came from crizay. Pours brown with a trace of a tan/off white head. Smells of gingerbread, caramel, molasses, syrup, some pepper. Tastes of spice, pepper, warming alcohol, some chocolate. Palate is full bodied. Traces of bitterness on the finish.

My Bottom Line:
Evocative coffee notes seep from the roasted and bready malts, as citrusy hops converse nearby. This Stout’s fruity perfume and cohesive maltiness makes for a satisfying example of the style.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam stands atop the darkest brown.
-Some sweet chocolate renders complexity to the malt profile.
-Roasted malt bitterness is decent, aptly drying out the residual sweetness.
-The body is chewy yet drinkable, very nice for the style.

Bottle.
