3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black with a creamy chocolate brown head. Sweet aroma initially with malt and caramel followed by some hints of coffee. Flavor is sweet upfront but finishes with a little hop bite. I get toasted malt for that smokey flavor, some vanilla and caramel along with sweet malt and some bitter hops and coffee at the end. Itís good stuff.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Holiday stout under nitro! Strong malt and chocolate flavor with enough strength and bitterness to emphasize the style! Offered as a holiday ale, but could be good year round!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very dark brown in color, this winter ale has a nose of an oatmeal stout, with cold and dark roasted malts. It has a nice, roasted, dull palate thatís a little dry. The flavor is mostly of roasted malts softened slightly by oats. This beer appears to get very good reviews from others, but Iím not so sure whatís so spectacular about this. Iím not really impressed at all.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours near black with a light beige head. Sweet and lightly roasted malts, some light notes of almost rotten fruits, and a hint of chocolate. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark beer with some cola colored hints around the edges. Only the thinnest slick of tan bubbles for a head. Nose of roasted grains some coffee. Full flavored stout with lots of roasted grains, molasses, some bitter coffee and burnt toast. Smooth mouth feel with a long coffee bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable stout.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very dark brown with two finger of light brown head. Settles to a nice cap in minutes with some lacing. Aroma is nutty, caramel, roasted, and sweet. Flavor is sweet up front, fading into roasted malt, coffee, and roasted oatmeal. Moderate carbonation, medium light body, and a smooth mouthfeel. Finishes dry and surprisingly clean. Not overpoweringly sweet. Rich but drinkable, an awesome stout.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I canít believe I passed this up for so long because it is good. Standard stout appearance, brown at the edges and black through the middle. You really have to let this one warm up because when its cold its sort of chalky but once it warms it gets nice. Aroma is sweet, sticky, nice. Flavor is a hint of sticky black sweetness, oats make it round and its just plain good. Iíll be buying a bunch more and I might even say this is better than Firestone Walkerís velvet merlin which was my favorite oatmeal stout up to this point.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Complex pleasant aroma of a oatmeal molasses cookie & coffee. Pours dark brown & fizzy with a light brown mostly diminishing head. Roasted malt moderately sweet flavor with a short finish. Medium to full body, this is an easily drinkable well balanced stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle is dark brownish pretty much black, some slight brownish edges but really opaque with a fairly thin leading to almost no tan head. Aroma brings notes of chocolate, espresso, lactose notes, hints of oat in there with a slight vanilla and caramel note in there as well. Taste is nice with roasted espresso, dark chocolate and booze soaked caramel, hints of oat filling out the body a bit more but it is slightly thin, hints of toast, roasted malt finish this out fairly bitter, surprising for a sweet stout. Nice carb to push it through the palate, and overall a very nice and easy drinking stout that is also very tasty.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2013 Very balanced, creamy oatmeal stout set apart by some nice residual malt sweetness and a subtle hint of íChristmasí spices. I like this more than regular Lefthand Milk, but would be a push if the nitro LH was available (this is a good compliment).
