2nd Nov 2010: Brown 33cl bottle, poured into a ’Hoegaarden Grand Cru’ stemmed tulip. This beer was formally 5%ABV, mine was 6%ABV. A slight haze in the body gives it a dark golden hue, on top a white bubbley head. Citrus fruits dominate the nose, really sour aroma, more than a hoppy citrus smell, this is lemon, lime and grapefruit all blended together. The taste is also citrusy, leaning towards a vinegarous feel. It was at this point I noticed it’s best before date was 27 Aug 2010, which means it was reviewed over two months after that. Hope the beer wasn’t on the turn as I wrote the review. Also ’miffed’ I paid full price for it (yesterday). Different and an OK beer, France has some good stuff, I’ll carry on trying to find the best ones and review them on here!

330ml bottle at 5%ABV pours a pale golden color with a 2 finger white head that retains well and leaves a thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is cereal grains and grassy hops. Taste is grainy with a grassy hop bitterness. Flavors are more complex than I can describe and this is a much better brew than I expected. Well done.

A light spicy pils aroma. First sign of hops from these guys. A light floral hop that makes it pretty tasty. Very smooth.

33cl bottle. Pours a hazy lemon colour with some head and very gentle bubble. The nose has lemon sorbet and yoghurt. The taste has more lemon with a background malt note, then yeast with some hops at the end. The palate has medium structure, a creamy texture and a fairly clean finish. Overall, a like this style a lot and it’s a fairly good example.
