White head on a hazy blonde body. Light beer, malty, hoppy, some spices. Good to quench your thirst, but not remarkable.

Hazy blonde with a thick lasting rocky head. Looks very appealing. Malty aroma, dry taste, very spicy and long one dimensional bitter finish.

Hazy golden color, medium frothy white head. Aroma is slight cheesy, bit spicy, some grassy hop. Dry spicy taste, crisp, bit bitter. Dry palate. Nice biere de garde.

33cl bottle from a six-pack of Breton beers at Carrefour. As cloudy as their Blanche; yeasty aroma, but not as dominant as the Blanche; sweet malty taste with a touch of herbs. Creamy and easy to drink with a smoky finish.

This is much more like it. Sweet, slightly woody, pineapple-fruity nose. There’s some hops there, too.Completely unlike any ’Biere de Garde’ I’ve tasted to date. Bright hazy yellow pour with a frothy-headed spritziness. Appetisingly spicy, with a sprinkle of something I can’t quite place. But it’s distinctively Belgian and probably coriander- used sparingly. Exceptionally lacy and creamily full-bodied for the style and ABV. The same subtly smoky afters as the Gwiniz Du. A hell of a lot going on for a 5 percenter. An attractively bitter dryness in the finish. A quenchingly spicy, well-balanced Blonde easily surpassing some of its more esteemed French and Flemish cousins.

Bottled. Cloudy golden coloured, thin lacing. Hoppy aroma. Pretty nice Biere de Garde style beer. Thanks to my friend (Roel) for bringing it from France.

SilkTork (5218) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2006
Bottle from Leclerk, Valreas. A pale ale with the clean lines of a lager - beefed up with the yeast in the bottle. This Blonde or Biere de Garde comes over as a flavoursome lager of considerable character and drinkability. Very pleasant. Lager hops lingering in the finish. Malt is clean and very largerish, though with hints of fruit, corriander and funegreek. Most of the flavour and character comes from the hop and the yeast. Low, natural and soft carbonation. A very enjoyable beer.

Bottle. Blond hazy body with yeasty chunks and a diminishing white foamy head. Fresh hoppy/herbal aroma with light citrusy and yeasty notes. Refreshing and well balanced malty/hoppy taste with yeasty and fruity hints. Leaves a decent bittersweet aftertaste. Enjoyable beer.

Bottle from Carrefour, Calais. Slightly hazy gold colour with thin white head. Nice yeasty nose, some lemon. OK in mouth, a little sour, with tingly lemon citrus hop finish. Very pleasant blond beer.
