3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 FunkyBrewster (1380) - Chicago, USA - JAN 23, 2012
On cask at the brewpub. Pours brown with no head. Aroma sweet caramel and bready with some biscuit and light herbal hoppiness. Flavor is sweet and malty with a stronger bread and caramel very much hoppy for the style. Finishes lightly bitter.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20 dougdecinces (78) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - FEB 4, 2012
On draught at the restaurant. Since it was dark where we were seated, I can’t give an accurate color or clarity description. Aroma was mostly of piney, resinous hops. I absolutely loved digging into the fine, pillowy head that only cask ales can provide. Good body and full mouthfeel, but overall the flavor on this was kind of bland, which was a dissapointment after earning such high marks for appearance and pallate.

aroma is toffee, hops, caramel. Could be more malty, but a little too hoppy for me. Good character, palate is lingering, malthy slight/medium hops. okay drinker for 1 or 2 brews..
