Half pint at the brewpub this afternoon. Clear dark brown in color with a thin beige head. Roasty nose with caramel, nuts and a bit of buttery diacetyl. Roasty and somewhat buttery flavor at first, blending into nutty, chocolatey and roasty finish.

Dark cola color with a good head and lacing. A little light and watery, but taste is clean roasted caramel with chocolate malt overtones. Moves lightly through palate and concludes with a short semi-sweet carbonation.

Cask at GTMW. Poured iced tea brown with a wispy off-white head. The aroma was really sweet, with cocoa and vanilla leading.. warm, but too sweet. The flavor maintained the sweetness, with similar sugars as the nose.. lightly-astringent roast around.. very roasty by the finish.. tasty. Light-medium bodied with low carbonation.. OK feel and flow.

Quality beer. Brown with a thin head. Chocolate nose with some earthy hops. Creamy yet very drinkable body with a satisfying finish.

Had this on tap at the brewpub but was in town for a wedding with a lot of family and didn’t take good tasting notes beyond the numbers.

Rating number 2050 for me, from cask at the brewpub. Pitch pour with a miscegenated, swirling tan and light brown head. Light roast and sour malt nose. Chocolate and basic roast taste. Watery body. No wood but light body. standard, smooth-bodied porter, not aggressive.

Nice local offering. Soft and creamy, but just a tad thin. Aroma is slightly off, but this is a very sessionable porter. Hints of chocolate, cream and dough. Touches of dark fruits. Not too shabby.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5920) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 7, 2008
Objectively speaking:
The other cask-conditioned beer during my visit to Broad Ripple.
I like:
Fruit-oriented flavour profile is a nice change of pace from the frequent roast overdose. Though you can capt coffee and chocolate, figs, raisin and blueberries are more likely culprits. Soft palate all throughout.
I dislike:
Not very appealing coke-colour with fading head. Sweeter than I’d like and perhaps overly timid on the hops for a malt-focused beast who is already timid on the roast.

Cask pour. Black with a fleeting tan head. Mild aroma is roasted blackened malts. Light/medium body. Decent flavors of blackened malts with some mocha coffee. Finishes nicely dry and bitter. Not too bad.
