3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 tjthresh (1849) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - DEC 10, 2008
Cask at the brewpub. Pour is light yellow orange with a decent white head. The aroma gives a light orange hoppy nothe with some bready malt. Flavor is pretty light with a lingering bitterness. Big body though I would not call it full. More carbonation than expected from a cask ale. Really easy to drink.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 heemer77 (4792) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - APR 19, 2008
On cask at the brewpub. The body was medium gold and hazy with a thin off white head. The aroma was lots of fresh oranges with some almonds and toast. The taste was more oranges with some deep walnuts. Nice soft mouthfeel. Well done.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thedm (4124) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 25, 2005
Indy Gathering 2005. This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized long lasting white colored bubbles that left behind an excellent lacing. The body was semi-hazy and dark orange brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of malts hops and dough. Its mouth feel is initially smooth with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Its flavor contained smooth bitter flavors mild but good. It starts off a little flat from the cask. All-in-all very nice brew.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 atpayne (615) - Zionsville, Indiana, USA - DEC 15, 2005
From the cask at the pub. Dusty bronze color with creamy white head. A decent lace is seen later as the beer starts to dissapear. Aroma is lacking somewhat. A faint hop is noticable and there is a little bit of fruityness, but you have to pay attention to get it. Smooth flavors appear to save it from the lack of aroma. Noticable hops set nicely with a mildly malty beer. A bit fruity turning somewhat metalic. The metalic character hangs around, but isn’t terrible. A bit of sweetness becomes noticable at the end.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 jahughey (65) - Franklin, Indiana, USA - SEP 14, 2005
Killer best bitter. Light amber, appropriate light carbonation for style. Hoppier in aroma than the ESB (undisputed drinkable brewpub king), light malt character, fairly hoppy in flavor. Though not a true session beer at over 5%, still has that same social, quaffable character. Served on beer engine closes the deal.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Tmoney99 (7299) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 21, 2005
Draft sampler at Broad Ripple. Light golden hue with a small off-white head that diminished quickly. Moderate malt and hop aroma. Light to medium body with smooth watery texture. Moderate sweet and bitter flavor with a small bite at finish.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - JUN 19, 2005
Draft at BRBC. Poured a very small tan head that quickly dissipated, fine-small sized bubbles, sparse lacing, no visible carbonation, transparent, and an orange hue. Aroma was lightly hoppy and sweet. Flavor was lightly bitter, hoppy and watery. Smooth, watery, thin, and dry mouthfeel. Light body.
