2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 asheft (2269) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 3, 2012
[growler from brewery]
Almost sour, sulfury, lager aroma with some toasty caramel and detectable hops. Clear amber under thin, off-white wisps. Sweet toasty caramel flavour with some lagery sulfur character and almost no hops flavour to speak of. Subtle bitterness leaves balance toward malty sweetness, but faint vinegary sourness could denote the onset of infection. Medium body, low to moderate carbonation, lasting moderate bittenees in a dry finish.

A reddish amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a weak nutty malt, a bit off. In mouth, a sweet nutty malt with grassy hops, a bit of solvent and wood extract, boiled veggies. On tap at National Capital Craft Beer Festival, August 17, 2012.

Very standard amber but really malty. A weird funk to it. Socks. Won't miss this brew.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cfrancis (1808) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 22, 2012
Pours a clear dark amber with a thin white top. Aroma is mostly malt with some sweetness. Taste is crisp, well balanced with the malt forward although that’s where this ends. Easy drinking but doesn’t inspire.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 pushkinwow (1371) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2012
Sample from the brewery while waiting to grab a growler of the stout. Full amber colour with a vibrant white head that fades quickly. Grain, grapefruit, light hops, very fresh. Medium body, high carbonation, sweet with a very light tang, get a lot of grapefruit on the palate towards the end.
