COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Broadhead’s Wildcard Ale is a refreshing, lightly bittered pale ale full of hoppy taste and aroma. Hops wild, this smooth flowing beer might use a different hop variety now and again, but rest assured it will be a winner! This round - Polaris hops.

on tap at pub italia, ottawa. hazy light yellow pour with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. sweet honeyed pale maltiness, sweet candies - miscellaneous fruitiness, bit of citrus, mint and pepper. average to moderate carbonation, light body, lightly sweet and muted yet slightly harsh grassy-spicy-citrusy-piney finish. blah.

A hazed golden amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a smooth grassy caramel malt with faint grassy hop. In mouth, a decent biscuit malt with british hops, metallic notes, grapefruits, Ok.

Part of a growler from the brewery, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep clear golden with a nice off-white head. Aroma: Pleasant, slightly fruity biscuity malts, slightly peppery, grassy, vaguely fruity (tropical?) hops, a bit caramel-like sweetness, slightly dusty. Palate: Medium body and carbonation. Flav.: More hop presence than the nose, a bit resinous, definitely peppery/grassy/green, still good, kinda fruity malt support, minerals, a touch of harsh alcohol?; dry with somewhat aggressive bitterness (unsure of IBUs) and a slightly fruity, dusty, kinda resinous/green hop finish.

Not my favourite hop, but drinkable.
