Bottle from local off-licence. White wine coloured, some white lacings. Nose is sweet apple, marzipan. Flavour of sweet apple, marzipan. Medium carbonation, a bit metallic and artificial.

Thin green yellow colour with a thin white head. Smells of sweet apple and Nose is sweet apple candy. Medium oily body with average carbonation. Tastes a bit artificial like processed sugar. Sour finish with a taste of pear.

After the glorious Millwhites Apples and Pears, I was hoping for a lot from this bottle from Budgens. Very pale gold. Slight fizz. Very faint aroma, like one of those bland French apples. Or pommes as our Gallic neighbours say. Taste is oily and unexpectedly sour, with a nice, very slightly dry trace of pears at the end. Not bad, but I won’t be investing.
