From a polypin at the Portcullis, Clifton, Bristoll 23/07/09. Golden in colour with slight carbonation. I was enjoying the cider festival a lot by the time I sampled this one, so my notes are sparse. Medium dry, with some decent fresh apple juice and a hint of the barnyard. Ok.

I was born in a barnyard, nothing could prepare me for the smell of this cider. Kind of like a mix of piss and sweat with a smidgen of vomit, perhaps a quantum of fart added for good measure. I would rather drink my own piss than this truly awful cider. Cheers . Pat

I really enjoyed this cider at the Redhill Beer Festival at the end of October. I didn’t taste any of the odd flavours described by other raters! I thought it was well tasty. Golden in colour with a good honest apple flavour. Quite robust. It also has a cheeky fizz.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2011 On tap at Wellington Arms, Bedford, in 1st Welly Summer Cider Festival ’11. Clear orange. Unpleasant sour, sweaty aroma with a hint of plastic. Bland, sweet, one-dimensional taste. Hints of berries, but no real sense of apple. Just a trace of dryness. Not a great experience, to be honest.

This looks like Lucozade in the glass. It had a Flinstone vitamin smell and flavor with a sweet apple juiciness.

Cask@Gallows Bird. Pours golden yellow, slightly hazy with very sparse head. Mouthfeel is very flat, taste is sweet with very mild fruity acids. Aromas have barnyard, leather, fruits. Quite mellow.

A Mes rate. Gravity at the Southampton.
Very murky orange brown colour. Smells of meat. Pork and apple sausages to be exact. Not the best smelling cider I’ve had to be honest. The flavour is also meaty but not quite so much and all the better for it. I don’t recall ever having a cider labelled as "creamy" but this certainly fits the bill. Very very odd stuff indeed. Sweet but tolerably so and drying a little in the finish. I’m really struggling to find anything to say here other than "it’s odd". Maybe I’ll just leave it at that.

Polycask at Banbury Beer Festival 08-05-10 Pours golden reasonably clear. I found this starting to verge into the more sweeter range but then I tend to find this with Broadoak, and whilst not my favourite producer it has to be said they have their fans in particular amongst the younger clientele. Its a reasonable stab, and is appley and flavoursome enough to hold my interest. A6 A4 F6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Cask Stillage from the Festival Bar at the Bhurtpore Inn, Aston 01/07/2009 Some fruit aroma. Golden coloured fruity and a little sweet on the palate with a slightly acidic tasting very tannin finish.
