Sampled at the brewpub. This is hazy dingy golden brown. First sip lights up the mouth with bright hops. They are fruity and floral. It is balanced so the hops can shine and they should with this beer. Those hops faded after a few sips, though. More drier citrus and caramel emerges. Interesting that it changed personalities so quickly. The floral and fruitiness reappeared at the finish but with more bitterness. This was fun and tasty.

This is an okay pale ale. A little cardboardy, hazy and light. Pine bitterness is apparent though fairly well-balanced.

On tap at Broadway. Pours a hazy golden orange color with white head. Hoppy, citrus, grassy flavors. Not bad but somewhat lighter bodied.

(tap at brewpub) murky orange with no head. Aroma was OK with citrus hops. Flavor was citrus hops and some caramel malt.

Sampled at St. Louis Microfest 2011 - Pours hazy amber with a small off-white head. The aroma has caramel, toasty malt and earthy hops. Medium body with light carbonation. The taste has caramel malt with some earthy aspects and the hops are piney and fruity. Nice beer.

Draft at Parkville Brewfest, sampled 4/30. Cloudy gold with a strong white ring of foamy head. Fresh, sweet aroma with a dry, sharp hoppy bite. Dry hopping very evident in the finish.

Draft at St. Louis Microfest 2011. Now that’s more like it. After a disappointing porter, the APA is legit. Pours a clear, bright gold color with a finger-thick white head. Notes of sweet malts, citrusy and floral hops, honey, a little bit of herbs, straw, and grass. Light-medium bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Smooth, easy-drinking APA that I could sip all day.

Sampler @ the brewpub. Not piny or spruce, a smaller brother to the DIPA, sweet bubblegum hops. Very delicious if you like a sweet hopcentric beer. Slightly sticky sweet on the cheeks. I could drink growlers of this.

Tap at the restaurant. Poured an amber color with a smaller white head. Left lacing as it went. Aroma was grass and pine. Thiner body. Flavor was pine and spruce. Watery and not as strong as some other APA’s but still the best Broadway I’ve had to date.

Tasted on tap at Broadway Brewery in Columbia, Missouri. Orange, hazy appearance. Slight hoppy aroma. Medium hopped taste. Malts taste a bite darker than most pales. Dry finish. Not a good pale ale.
