3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Glouglouburp (4780) - Montreal, - FEB 8, 2012
In short: A basic refreshing fruity Belgian blonde ale. Ok.
How: Tap at Vices & Versa, Montreal
The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is not really rustic, more like standard Belgian blonde ale typical fruity esters. Taste is again mostly that of a fruity Belgian blonde ale with tropical fruits, apples, some bananas. After taste is cider-ish. Medium body, medium carbonation. The beer is actually quite refreshing even if there’s a little too much residual sugars to call it a thirst quencher. Not what I expect from a Saison, but as a low-abv Belgian blonde ale this is acceptable. Or maybe it was too fresh when I had it on tap and the yeast hadn’t finished its job. I wish I could give this local Saison a good score but I am always very honest in my ratings to make up for all the lies every time I say to someone “please to meet you”.

A hazed amber saison with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a nice fragrant perfumey malt, orange pulp, beautiful and nice. In mouth, a nice curacao with fruity esters, creamy mouthfeel, nice and smooth, simple. On tap at Brouhaha, Nov. 4 2011.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lefossoyeur (274) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 5, 2011
Hazy blonde with a creamy white head. Fruity aromas, some pineapple and a touch of funkyness. Light to medium body, earthy with fruity notes of brettanomyces coming trough as it warms up. Clean, light bitterness. Nice saison.
