On tap at Brouhaha, hazy gold amber, with a small white head, yeasty, winey tannic, vinegar dill pickle, light vanilla oakiness nose with some flowery petal notes, with some hints of citrusy, green sour apple, a wet toasted malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, mild white wine, wet oaky character with a floral herbal, vinegar, dill flavor, with some sour green apple, light tartness, leading towards a juicy, lemony, winey, dry white wine, and mild citrusy sourness finish.

In short: An tasty, sour, tart, tannic, fruity blonde ale. Strange, totally unique.
How: Tap at Brouhaha, Montreal
The look: Cloudy dark blonde body topped by a long-lasting small beige head
In long: Nose is rustic, with flowers, wood and fruits coming together for a surprising rustic nose. Taste is totally out there. Hard to describe. Lots of cereals, sour apples, lots of tannins, lots of dry wood (almost sawdust-like), sour grapes, dry flower bouquet, sweet fruits, dried bananas, commanding tartness. I could go on and on and still it would not do it justice. This really is a tough one to describe. This is a strange beer and also a very tasty one. Not something I could drink all night long. A sipper. On my first few sips I did not know if I hated it or liked it. But it really grew on me before the end of my glass. In the Quebec beer scene dominated by solid session beers this one stands out like a mexican on a ski slope.

Draught. Mondiale 2009 - day 3. Hazy amber pour, with a small but lasting white head. Wow factor in that aroma - strong sweet grain malt, dry, almost tannic wood resin, damn, it’s MUSTY but still fruity and yeasty, mid-level alcohol, and orange zest - himmel gott that pushed my nose buttons (oh, shut up). Tasted of orange peel, raisins, alcohol, old barnboard (dry, dusty, most of the resin leeched out of it), and amazingly, I got a real punch of roasted fresh-shelled pecans. Slick, lively, boozy mouthfeel, with lingering fruity acidity too - just terrific .... no idea what the hell it was, but I loved it.

Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2009
A hazy amber ale with a thin off white head. A nice funky oak aroma, with vanilla, and Brett. In mouth. a pleasant clean malt with refreshing qualities, light sweetness, fruity esters, warming alcohol, very nice and quuaffable for a strong ale. On tap at Mondiale 2009.
