3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
5-25-08 bottle shared by the super Miketd
Dark red black brown with little to no head at all. Smell is really mild and subtle - I can barely pick up anything at all. Flavor is roasted burnt meat and a hint smoky almost. Not very "imperial stout" like but not awful. Drinkable, enjoyable and wouldn’t turn it down if it was offered to me. It was just not really what I was expecting.

Shared by none other than Miketd. Thanks again dude!
Pours black with a small light beige head. Smell is moderate dusty and fresh chocolate. Taste is smooth and chocolately with a slight dry bittersweetness. Medium to full bodied and appropriate carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2009 Bottle shared by miketd at lb4lb’s tasting. Poured a deep brown/black color with a moderate beige head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate, light roast, chalk, and a hint of fruitiness. Smooth, lightly chalky entry leads into a dry, bittersweet chocolate maltiness with a weird dry yeastiness. Smooth on the palate, moderately dry with some chalkiness. Not sure what it is about foreign stouts/porters, but there is something about them that I don’t really enjoy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black with a firm grey head. Sweet aroma with notes of roasted bread. The flavour is dominated by English liquorice, dark chocolate, coughing juice and sirup. A bit one-sided perhaps, but nevertheless quite good.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Swing top bottle. An almost black beer with a huge and persistent brown head. The aroma is overall Ok, but it’s a liitle bit too weak and less roasty than expected. There are notes of milk chocolate, coffee with a more than average hoppiness that gives to this beer a grapefruity and citrussy character. The flavour is sweet, maybe too much, but has nice coffee, chocolate and fruity (dark fruits, grapefruit) notes. Creamy mouthfeel and structure, a bit oily, medium to full body, soft carbonation and probably too much alcohol felt to give it a 5 on palate. Medium bitterness from both roasted malt and hops. I expected more, but this is certainly a well made beer.

courtesy of fiulijn - black coloured and with a firm big beige head; correct lacing; powerful aroma of black chocolate, cocoa and dried black fruits; roasted; very thick and oily mouthfeel maintained by a robust carbonation; a strong sweetness balanced by an even stronger bitterness the finish is roasty and quite dry with loads of chocolate and coffee - waouhhh ...
