Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 22, 2002 A dark brown beer with an OK but fast disappearing head. The aroma is fruity and sweet - very nice. The flavor is great: very sweet, fruity and malty. You do not taste the alcohol content. A really great beer - the best danish christmas beer - but so sweet that I can only recommend on in a set. Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 14, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Vintage 2003. Dark - almost black - with a brownish head that collapses rather quickly. Extremely full-bodied, aromatic and tasty with a fruity nose. Notes of both chocolate and licorice - especially the latter. This obviously is full of good ingredients - and a Christmas beer as they’re supposed to be. 201203 omhper (11027), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 23, 2007 Updated: Jan 23, 2008Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Dark ruby, small beige head. Aroma of cinnamon and cane sugar. Fairly sweet with clean mouthfeel. Bready with notes of raisnins and herbal spices, surprisingly bitter finish. Really good with its concentrated flavours. yespr (8539), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 7, 2007 50 cL bottle, 3 L bottle and tap several times since the first release. Pours red/brown with light brown head. Aroma is strong, clear alcohol notes, berries, spice, roasted malt and liquorice. Taste has all the same elements in wineous blend, but notes just explode into a firework of taste - fantastic but perhaps slightly too strong and overwhelming. joergen (6947), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 23, 2004 2004-edition.
Dark colured beer with a nice beige head.
Sweet aroma dominated by caramel and spices.
Good flavour with lots of sweetness, hops and alcohol.
Nice, but as I remember, the 2003-edition was better and more complex.
