Mads Langtved (2246), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 12, 2002 Very nice ale. Perfectly balanced bitter. I really enjoyed this beer. PetetheMeat (502), Hove, Denmark Aug 27, 2006 Updated: Feb 24, 2008Brown colour, tall off-white lasting head (which of course hides some of the aroma). Aroma dominated by roasted malts with some underlying malty sweetness. Hoppy (and fruity?) notes. Rich flavour with more roasted and sweet malts. Dried fruits? Dusty. (traces of shery?). The sweetness lingers on and merges with a hoppy tone in the finish. Oily palate. Overall very good. Excellent with food.
A three year old brew, bottled, had even more sherry notes. Still very pleasant. Hildigöltur (5055), København Ø, Denmark Oct 12, 2002 Great balance between the spicyness and the bitterness. Another great brew from Brøckhouse. BeerBiker (1235), Odense, Denmark Oct 13, 2006 Updated: Dec 14, 2006Bottle.
Unique danish old ale style. Can be a challenge, but contains fruity notes, woodtaste, and a dry finish makes this beer a good thing. omhper (11027), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 29, 2008 Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Dark nut brown, firm creay head. Up front it shows up molasses, wood and sherry. It’s sweet and very malty with lots of caramel. Light fruity notes of lingonberry turning to salt and coffee in a carefully bitter finish. Cottony soft with well developed, mouthfilling malt character. Pleasant and fairly complex.
