COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: A strong and festive ale brewed according to Danish Easter traditions using Belgian top-fermenting yeast. In spite of the alcohol content of 8,5%, the ale is bright in both colour and taste and has a magnificent scent of spring. Brøckhouse Easter Ale harbours a full, almost honeyish flavour, from the abundant contents of pale ale, wheat and caramel malts which are balanced by a moderate hop bitterness. The aroma is pleasantly fruit-like with a spiced scent of dried fruits and nutmeg. This ale goes extremely well with Easter lamb roast. Best served at 10-12 degrees celsius.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma is very sweet with a strong spicy presence, citrus, coriander, cloves, and a bit of cinnamon. The flavor is quite sweet with a strong spicy note as well as a good deal of fruits, and with the alcohol felt slightly on the tongue, leading to a dry spicy end. The spices includes coriander and cloves, and the fruitiness is mainly citrusy.

(50 cl bottle from Kvickly) Pours a clear golden with medium white head that laces the glass. Aroma is tart (BB Date: 19th February 2011) with some remnants of spices when the bouquet is opened up a bit by oxydation and temperation. Full-bodied, oily texture with medium carbonation and a short astringent finish. The taste is mostly tart (bret?) with what is perhaps very subtle remains of fruity notes (banana?). Considering that the beer is still carbonated I imagine the yeast has continued to condition in the bottle eliminating the remaining malt sweetness with the hops expiring due to oxidation and general aging.

Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity, yeasty and spicy. Flavor is rather sweet and moderate bitter. Finish is dry and spicy. The Belgian yeast really shows. 140407

I have always liked this one very much. It is a cross between a belgian Strong Ale and a weisse. At least it’s got weisse like characters. I found this for 20,- dkk., and I was a little amazed to see it. It is clearly the 2008 thus being one year old. I can’t tell the age on tasting it. But again it has been a year since I tasted it fresh. I have a few 2006. I look forward to taste them. It is beautiful orange and cloudy with a huge wite head. Lots of yeast in the nose. Taste is fruity with banana, orange, and peach? But it is also quite spicy. One of my absolut favourite easter brews. Brøckhouse why did you have to close?

500ml bottle, thanks to Skinnyviking. (Almost) clear dark amber body with a low, white head. Fruit-oily aroma with spicy notes. Flavour on the sweet side with honey, late banana and orange. Ends with yeast and noticeable alcohol. Heavy, but though pretty fair (shared with Finn Arvid, Copenhagen 31.05.2008).

Bottle 0.5 l. Dark yelleow with white head. Differentiated flavour with a clear and unusual taste of cumin. Might have expected some vinegar for an Easter brew.
