COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Brøckhouse Pilsner is brewed according to old Czech traditions. It has been hopped using the exquisite Czech Saazer hops. The mild, light malt flavour is balanced by a distinct bitterness. Brøckhouse Pilsner has a more hoppy flavour and thus more character than the ordinary Danish pilsner. Should be served cold, at 5-7°C. The pilsner originated from the Plsen District in the Czech Republic. In this part of Europe the water was soft and the bright golden beer could be produced as opposed to the darker Bavarian version made on hard water. In Denmark the dark Bavarian version was consumed until the mid-40’ies when equipment that could remove calcium from the water became available. With the calcium removed from the water it was possible to produce Pilsner and it soon became the preferred choice of the Danish beer drinkers.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2012 Bottle. Exp. Date 2006. Oldies but not goddies. Very small head. Dark golden. No exact aromas. Gentle taste of close to nothing. This brew is too old I am afraid. Though still drinkable. Rerated exp. 2009. Much better great spicy taste.

BBE 201009. Golden of color with an off white head. An aroma of fruits, caramel, apples, hops and weak liqurice? A flavor of caramel, apples, hops, spice and bread. After all these years it tastes almost as an british bitter.

A saaz-dominated lager with a strong bitter finish, almost salty in the end. Hoppy grass dominates the beer, and there’s only a hint of a malty base. Good.
