English: A round, mellow and dry stout. It is brewed with pale ale malt, caramel and chocolate malts along with roasted non-malted barley. Brøckhouse Stout is top-fermented with fine hop bitterness and a whiff of chocolate. The stout appears dry and creamy with a thick lush head. It has a moderate content of carbon dioxide. The stout is magnificent with food – it goes well with the spicy kitchen as well as seafood and heavy chocolate desserts. Best served at 10-12 degrees celsius.

Tap, DBF 2004. Jet black, moderate beige head and moderate condition. Low liquorice and bitter coffee bean aromas. Quite thin but complex in the mouth with coffee, toast and roast barley apparent. Short dry roasted finish.

Bottled. Black. Licoricy, hoppy aroma. Clean malt profile with a rich hoppy flavour with notes of licorice. Seems well balanced.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2007 Black with a tiny light brown head. Unique aroma of licorice, roast malt, flowers, earth and hay. Flavour is even more unique, with an initial sour impression that broadens with sweetness and bitterness and a dominant licorice tone. Clearly a love or hate beer, and I’m one of the lovers.

Dark brown, small head. Aroma from licorice. Flavor from sour oranges. Dry and not one of my favorites.

Black, small head. This is not one of my favourite stouts. Flavor is fruity in a strange way, and reminds me of oranges that hasnt matured. Salty. This bottle felt like it was a little too old or something.

Draught at DBF 2004. Black with a brown head. A sourish aroma with chocolate and/or coffee. A salty and fresh flavour with a lot of maltiness and a long bitterness.

Draught at DBF 2004. Jet blsck with no head. Big aroma with coffee and brandy. The flavor is rather burnt, with a soft finish, very brandy alike again. Very nice stout.

Black body with almost no head. Aroma and flavor has lots of chocolate and coffee, with some bitterness in the aftertaste. A very good stout from this danish microbrewer.
