COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: A strong barley wine, round and soft, comparable to brandy. Made solely from malt and hops it has a powerful and intense taste. Brøckhouse Vintage has been stored for at least one year and will keep for at least another 10 years. The long storage process adds to the full-bodied character and rounds off the alcohol. Can be served as an aperitif or accompanying a cup of coffee like brandy. Best served at 8-10 degrees celsius.

Light amber color with little white head. The aroma is roasted with very round taste, almost brings your mind to cognac.

As barley wine, this vintage 2005 is somewhat lighter in color than other similar I have tasted. It smells a lot of fruit and malt, and the taste is also most marked by fruits and berries as well as a pleasant malt sweetnes. Alcohol is present, but at no time penetrating. A good and rich barley wine.

2007 bottle (gift from Barley Wine - http://www.ratebeer.com/Places/ShowPlace.asp?Place Pours clear red with no head whatsoever. Aroma is yeasty, fruity and boozy. Taste of malt and fruits (raisins, plums) with a lasting vinous aftertaste. Exceptionally smooth and "round" flavour - very brandy-ish...although a lot less strong obviously. No carbonation at all - probably due to its age.

Hazy dark brown beer. Soft palate. This 2004 vintage is holding up well. Malt doesn’t taste aged. Slightly bitter toffee caramel. Finishes with a little aniseed alcohol and a touch of heat. Nice enough but I could not drink much.
