Commercial Description:

English: A strong barley wine, round and soft, comparable to brandy. Made solely from malt and hops it has a powerful and intense taste. Brøckhouse Vintage has been stored for at least one year and will keep for at least another 10 years. The long storage process adds to the full-bodied character and rounds off the alcohol. Can be served as an aperitif or accompanying a cup of coffee like brandy. Best served at 8-10 degrees celsius.

Medium offwhite head. Orangey body. Malty straw aroma with alcoholic toffee and faint citric notes. Sweet-dry caramelly toffee taste with alcoholic citrus notes. Very rounded, harmonic, and balanced. Fizzy mouthfeel. Dry orangey papery hop aftertaste. Very nice. (0.5l bottle shared by KnutAlbert.)

2005 vintage, sample fall 2008. Bottle, courtesy of TheCheeseMan. Pours a murky light brown with an off-white head. Some nice small bubbles racing up the glass, nice lacing. Floral aroma, candied dark fruits, earthy with some spicy hops to the nose. Malty and sweet, some spice, figs, earthy, small bitter hop finish. Med to low carb.

2005 bottle. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of bread, vanilla, raisins. Tastes of sweet caramel with some vinous hints. Mouthfeel was a little flat. Decent.

Bottle@KnutAlbert’s. Low beige head. Crystal clear, light copper colored. Inviting grain aroma. A whiff of caramel and ripe citrus. Predominant taste of sweet grain. Some caramel, fruits and alcohol, and a fine and well prononced bittterness. Balanced and big-bodied. Very likeable.

Bottle. Vintage 2005. Colour redbrown with small off white head. Aroma nice starts with a little hopp notes and then prunes, plums and a lot of sweetness. Taste sweet and sugary. The alcohol is well hidden. A soft and nice beer, but I think it would have been better a year ago, tends to get a little onedimensional in the glass.

Bottle shared by GrOve. Caramel, grain. Plenty of sweetness, but still lots of hops giving aroma and laysers of bitterness.
