Commercial Description:
The lighter-bodied russet brown companion to Stout, our Porter has a dry, toasted grain palate with subtle caramel malt notes in the smooth lingering finish.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of frothy light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation dark ruby red brown colored body. The aroma was malty sweet dark chocolate and dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The thin yet flavorful flavor contained notes of sweet malt and dark malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

On tap at Brockway. Poured a clear mahogany with a short-lived cap of off-white head. Interesting array of coffee, molasses, dark chocolate, and other sugars.. deeper roast to it.. intriguing. Flavor had tasty coffee at the core.. dark chocoate and other deeply-roasted sugars afterward... herbal and soapy notes weren’t as lucrative.. nice coffee again at the finish.. almost a "7". Lighter-bodied with mild bitterness... a tad grainy.. OK feel to it.

Pours mahogany/black with a thin, tan skin. Aroma finds a touch of vinegar to coffee bitters and milk chocolate. Alot of raisin in the flavor before smooth roastiness and a hint of alcohol to finish. I couldn’t find the caramel notes as advertised, but I didn’t mind as this was a fairly solid porter.

On tap at Brockway Chophouse, Palatine, IL 60067
Handsome pour, a deep brown body with ruby highlights an a creamy, dark tan head. Heavy lacing coated the glass to the finish. It smells of lightly roasted barley, caramel, milk chocolate, and coffee grounds. I found it a bit thin, but it still delivered a mouthful of roasted, dark caramelly flavors. Not too shabby.

Brockway Chophouse, Palatine, IL
