Cornfield (4468), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Nov 5, 2006 I was pleasantly surprised that a Saison held up so well after aging in a whiskey barrel. If this is the same brew that I had unaged at the brewpub - Nice job Jay Wozniak. It’s a funkified version of an already fun style for me. The whiskey and oak scents merged nicely with the warm, grassy, spiced up Saison aroma. A citric tartness was also present in the taste, mellowed by the barrel aging. All in all, a quite decent ale.

Festival of Barrel Aged Beers, Chicago, IL 11/04/2006
