3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I actually thought this was pretty straightforward for a Mikkeller collab. A well done stout, the licorice was not prominent. I didn;t really get much of the berries.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Take away from The Evening Star in Brighton - this beer is very complex. The flavor is all licorice, chocolate, cranberry, and molasses; however, it tastes quite light and hoppy. It somehow maintains a smooth, velvety mouthfeel despite the lightness. When poured from the jug, it looked amazing. Great thick head, looking like chocolate milk.

Bottle shared with Vestergaard. Ma homeboy. Pours pitch black with a brownish head. Aromas of roasted liqorice, coffee and some sweet fruits. Dark chocolate. Bittersweet flavour, very roasted and slight fruitiness. Could have been stronger for my taste. Bitter and roasted finish. Very nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to klimaet. Bottle. Pours black with a big, brown head. Aroma is very roasted, and got much of the oatmeal stout characters. Slight bitter berries and a little bit of smoke. Taste is very bitter and burned. Lots of almost salmiak-like licorice. Cranberries offer a little fruityness, but it’s still a pretty one sided beer. Still quite delicious!

Tap at Max’s 4/27/14. Wow. This is phenomenal. The licorice and cranberry balance each other out perfectly. Sandy sugary chocolate. Wow. This is the best Imperial Stout I’ve had in a long time. Has a coffee touch. Excellent fluffy body, nice UK feel. Black licorice comes out the more you sip at it.
