Brewed with licorice in the boil and had 20 kilos of real whole cranberries in the fermenter.

Cask at Brodies festival, King William IV, Leyton on 8 April 2012. Some confusion about what this was when we were drinking it. Black and rich. Lots of coffee and chocolate. Licorice is noticeable. Cranberry surprisingly less so. As well as the usual imperial stout character it was also strongly resinous and hoppy. Interesting and very enjoyable.

@ Mikkeller Bar Stockholm: stora toner av kaffe och choklad pluss en hel del aska. Ganska torr. Nja ... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are liquorice, roasted malt, chocolate, and berries - with a bitter finish.

Pours black with a low creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, honey, hay / stable, dark red berries. Taste is dark red berries, vanilla, stable / hay, coffee, honey. Mouthfeel is suprisingly thin with low carbonation. Aftertaste is coffee and sour berries. Not that good unfortunately.

Keg at Mikkeller Bar, Stockholm. Opaque black, rich creamy beige head. Aroma of leather and espresso. Full nodied with rounded mouthfeel. Licorice, coffee and cream. Heavily roastiness lingers in a warming finish where everything else camouflages the bitterness.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar Stockholm opening. Black with a tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, ash, licorice, some coffee and light berries. The finish was bitter and dry. A descent one.

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar Stockholm, 14/3-14.
App: Black with a brown head.
Aroma: Roasted and woody with coffee, licorice and tart berries.
Taste: Pretty same thing going on here. Roasted sweetness with chocolate, coffe and some sweet licorice drying out with tart berries to a woody finish.
Palate: Medium to big, soft to tickling carbonation, slight sticky.
Overall: I’m not a fan of tart stouts really.

Pour was very dark with a tanned head. Taste was quite bitter but the finish was rather fruity.

Draft at Churchkey. Not sure about licorice or cranberry in this keg? Rich, dark black pour with a dense, thick beige head. Nose is gorgeous, Beautiful bitter roasted malt, dark chocolate, hints of cherry, touches of anise, plum, cocoa powder. Just really good. I’m jamming on this shit right now. Velvety and smooth, but dry on the finish. All about it.

Bottle. Black with a medium head. Hoppy with plenty of body.More like a black IPA than a stout. Superb.
