On tap at the Brewpub. Very light haze on this brown beer. Tiny white head. Smooth low carbonation palate, dry. The malt here has a slight ’dark’ feel - a trace of toffee and a whisper of roast. Decent balanced mild orangey hop. Aftertaste also balanced and lingers. Not bad!

Cask (William IV, RBESG2011 Saturday)
Quite stodgy bitter aroma. Fuller in the mouth, cleaner and more distinct nutty and husky components. Woody finish, pretty solid. Nicely dry and very well attenuated. A touch of mushroom too just once or twice. but good nonetheless.

Cask @ CPK on 10th August 2011. Dark, clear copper with thick offwhite foam and full lacing. Sweet, malty aroma. Main taste grain and also vinous, as per a white wine. Large gulps bring a citric taste. Bitter sweet finish, but the bitterness increases. Grainy texture.

Cask at William IV, London, during RBESG 2011. Clear amber pour with a mild, bubble head. Has a bit of wood and toast in the nose. Light sweet flavor, more wood and toast, and some dry, leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Modest dry finish, more leaves, light sugar.

Cask at the Old Coffee House, W1. Brown coloure d bitter with generous white head. A well balanced bitter with quite a pronounced but not strong pine/citrus hop character in the finish, quite light in body, some biscuity malt, medium finish. Well made and pleasant, a very sessionable bitter, perhaps not the most exciting of the Brodies efforts.
