Cask (William IV, RBESG2011 Saturday)
Quite stodgy bitter aroma. Fuller in the mouth, cleaner and more distinct nutty and husky components. Woody finish, pretty solid. Nicely dry and very well attenuated. A touch of mushroom too just once or twice. but good nonetheless.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jackl (727) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2012
Cask @ The Old Coffee House. Chestnut brown color with a modest white head. The nose is malty caramel, brown sugar sweetness, dark fruits, blackberry. The taste is sweet, more brown sugar and classic crystal malt flavor, long lightly-dry finish. Pretty robust body for a bitter, subtle carbonation. Overall, this was actually a very flavorful bitter served in excellent condition. Respect to the Coffee House for keeping a nice pint despite slightly dingy surroundings.
