3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from the hive. Dark brown, thin tan head. Lightly hoppy, citrus, grapefruit. Thinnish body, medium carbonation. Bitter finish. Good, but not the amazing Brodies style I recall from last year.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from The Beerhive. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, burnt caramel and aniseed. Flavour of coffee and citrus. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture. Faint carbonation. Sits closer to a Stout than an IPA, although it lacks the depth of a great Stout and the hop character of a great IPA.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours almost black with a light beige bubbly head which forms a layer on the beer. Aroma is slight citrus along with chocolate and dried fruit notes. Taste is initially dark chocolate bitter followed by slight citric accentuations, with a mellow roasty finish. This is somewhere between medium and full bodied.

Cask at GBBF 2012. Poured a hazy dark brown colour, with a thin off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, rich berries, resinous hops and oak. Pine and peal in the flavour, with some grapefruit and liquorice notes. Finish was dry grain, toasted malt and lingering hop bitterness.

Backlog rating. Keg at the Rake tap takeover, London. It pours a dark brown color with a minimal tan head. Aroma is juicy fruity hops, grass, citrus, ripe apricots and mango. Taste has a lingering bitterness with notes of roasted malts, coffee beans, pine needles, licorice root. Finishes bitter and quite dry. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Very tasty

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hits the black IPA ying and yang perfectly. Fresh pine and citrus notes from hops offset by smokey chocolate and liquorice from the malt.
