Cask conditioned handpump Old Fountain London. A near black beer with a white bubbly head. Very good hops in this with minimal roast from the dark malts. Nothing sweet about this at all. Tons and tons of citric fruits; mostly grapefruit. Really really lovely. A near perfect BIPA.

William IV: Brodies Birthday Bash Sept 2011. Hop aroma. Zinging hop taste. Not much room for the malt. Nettle sting on the tongue. Some sweet malt does come through. Not my thing.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Jacob23_5 (128) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 8, 2012
Cask at Cloisters. Pours red to black, a creamy head one centimetre. Nice citrus and black coffee on the nose. The palate is really remarkably smooth and soft, with dark coffee and dark chocolate flavours, along with cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg hints with citrus fruit and nutty notes. Anything which can balance those coffee, chocolate and citrus flavours so well, with that mouth-feel, has to be well done.

Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Alcohol is well balanced with lingering pine and roasty malt flavours.
