Tap at William IV. Pours a dark coca cola colour with a pale tan head. Aroma is pine, cannabis with an earthy funkiness. Medium body, medium carbonation. There's pine, toffee, grapefruit, coffee, pineapple, funky fusty stuff. Yep, nice.

Keg in King William IV. Hmm in two minds about the keg, definitely served a good few degrees too cold. Dark brown appearance, hint of cola at the bottom. Huge upfront liquorice hit. Actually thought this was one of the more successful Black IPAs Iíve had in terms of blending the dark roast and the citric bitter hops. Improved immensely as it warmed up, will try to seek on cask as Iím sure it would get a higher score.

Tons of citrus on the nose with peach, lemon zest, fairy liquid and papaya. Pours a deep ruby with a firm, fluffy head. Flavour is true to what is fast becoming my new favourite style - an excellent balance of deep, roasted malts and zesty, spicy hops. Pasionfruit, charcoal and burnt orange peel. Finish is very dry and very bitter and very pleasant. Very nice.
