Tap at Mikkeller & Friends, february 15th 2014. Very dark brown body, big beige head. Rich aroma of citric and tropical hops, roasted malt. Taste of pine, tropical fruit, blueberries, dark chocolate. Nice. Good bitterness and a pleasant roastiness. Pine, peach and coffee aftertaste. Good job.

Wonderful stuff - red-black with a faint haze and lots of hops on the nose, then a big rich flavour taking in chocolate, dried fruit and burnt orange. The finish is very bitter but softened by a lasting fruitness.

Dark brown, ok head. Good hopped at both smell as taste, also the citrus fruits and decent amount of spiced. Not bad, a bit of a surprise even for me.

33cl bottle. Pours black with thick and lasting tan/off-white head ’- light lacing. Aroma is wonderful - loads of tropical fruit character: passionfruit, mango, citrus, grape all there in abundance. Hardly any indication of roasted malt or any aromas you’d associate with dark beers. Taste also showcases juicy tropical fruits with a tasty zing of citric bitterness. Roasted malt comes through after the initial tropical buzz, with some notes of coffee and liquorice. Medium mouthfeel, perfect level of carbonation. Aftertaste is an interesting mix of roasted flavour and grapefruit bitterness. A top-notch, seriously drinkable BIPA.

Keg/Cask at William IV Bunny Basher; tried both versions side by side both quality BIPA’s, piney resinous hop balanced with a slight roast malt, the keg held on to head longer, the Keg version was marginally better for me the colder dispense made the hop taste crisper.

Big sucker-punch of sherbet, grapefruit, lemon rind and pine. Then cream and something milder rounding out the edges, fading through charcoal porter vibes to a lasting ipa bitterness. Some dirty muddy note on there too. Tastes very strong, I wouldn’t recommend drinking a full pint of this. Pretty damn awesome.

Pours very dark colour, taste is extremely hoppy with some tropical fruit, one of the best beers I’ve had

Bottle, 50 cl. Black-brown with a huge frothy beige head. Aroma is hoppy with toasted malts, grapefruits, citrus and hints of licorice. Flavor is bitter-sweet with lots of grapefruits and licorice, leading to a dry bitter finish. Medium body.
