2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 theSlipperyPen (213) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2011
On tap at The Cross Keys, Covent Garden. It’s a light amber ale with a loose, wet head. The aroma is of sweet, bready malts and a soft marmalade edge. In the mouth it drinks like a bitter with a sharp citrus profile, but nothing like the pine or zest you’d want from an IPA. Mouth feel is near flat and thin, perhaps a tad oily. It finishes bitter with a lasting yeast and sulphur. Though it slakes the thirst it’s not exactly one to go all geeky over.
