Cask at the Star, London N19, on 5th July 2009. The gold-coloured beer was served crystal clear with a small, but lasting white head that left slight deposits on side of glass during moderate speed of consumption. The ale was on the best form that I have drunk it. Hempy hop aroma moves quickly to a very bitter taste on the roof of the mouth with the herby hop continuing, finalising with a long, satisfying finish of hoppy bitterness.

At the brewpub in Leyton. Clear gold beer. Little suddy white head. Light palate, semi dry. A little even malt with a whisper of citrus hop that is pretty tame. Dry finish, mildly bitter aftertaste. Okay.

On tap at The Cross Keys, Covent Garden. It’s a light amber ale with a loose, wet head. The aroma is of sweet, bready malts and a soft marmalade edge. In the mouth it drinks like a bitter with a sharp citrus profile, but nothing like the pine or zest you’d want from an IPA. Mouth feel is near flat and thin, perhaps a tad oily. It finishes bitter with a lasting yeast and sulphur. Though it slakes the thirst it’s not exactly one to go all geeky over.

From cask at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild citrusy and hoppy. Bitter, malty and light cornish flavoured. Bitter and rather dry. Light butterish, not in good condition. Bitter and bland finish. Re-rate needed.

Cask at the William IV (Brodies Autumn Fest), 4th Sept 2010. Clear amber with no head. Dry, somewhat hoppy finish but overall too forgettable. Not an IPA...

Cask at the Old Coffee House, London. Pours a clear, rich yellow with a faint film. Good hop aroma with mild dankness and citrus. Lightly sweet flavor with ome bread and decent bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Finishes with lingering bitterness ad mild malt notes. Good overall.

Cask @ the Crosse Keys, Covent Garden. Amber pour with a fluffy white head. Citrus, pine and herbs in the aroma. Crisp citrus flavours with a hint of herbs. Smooth and competent brew.

Cask @ Cross Keys, London. Golden with medium white head. Fruit hops, caramel and cookie dough. Stome sticky resiny hops on the back palate too. Dry hopped like finish. Very nice.
