4th September 2010. Brodies Beer Fest at their Brewpub - King William IV in Leyton.
Bottle. Opaque black beer with a good tan head. Light dry palate. Rich creamy dark malt with a whisper of banana (is that what makes this Jamaican?). A very light touch of hop. Semi dry finish. Decent.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle endorsed by and bought from Kris Wines, London. A very dense dark coloured pour with little in the way of a head. Nose was very promising, sweetish and fruity with a touch of roast. Fullish, smooth mouthfeel. Similar qualities in the flavour with tasty dark chocolate notes and a lingering slightly bitter finish. Can’t fault it.. Jamaica ? Nah she wanted a swig.....

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask (gravity dispense) at Ealing Beer Festival, July 2009. Very dark. No head but decent condition. Creamy, roast malt aroma. Some quite bitter chocolate on the palate. Light bitterness on the finish. Strong coffee develops. Not quite sure what makes this Jamaican but it’s a very nice beer.

4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A very satifying, full-bodied stout, thick in texture, almost as black as guinness, with a soft efervescent umber-tinged head.
Strong earthy and roasted flavours combine with subtle smokiness then all three flavour attributes linger in the mouth between sips.
A thickish mouthfeel makes the stout all the more rewarding.
