3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at Howl at the Moon, Hackney on 11 January 2014. Poured a hazy golden colour with a scummy white head. Strong aroma of citrus hop, peach and barley sugar. Grapefruit hops in the initial flavour with some melon and biscuity malt. Finish was bitter rind, hop resin and chewy malt. A bit more of a hop bite for an NZ hop beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask at Bacchus. Light blonde. Lovely aroma of mango, grape juice, orange, light floral notes, juicy passionfruit. Taste gives a great tropical hit, some dryer citric notes, very juicy mandarin. Great NZ hop character. Light bodied. Easy drinking - so sinkable. Lingering tropical and lightly pithy citrus notes. A delight.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
My Bottom Line:
The glorious interplay of tropical fruit, coniferous resins, white grapes and straw-like cereals makes this Golden Ale compelling from aroma to finish, while avoiding the pitfalls of sometimes brash, tiresome overhopping which is prevalent when these NZ hops are used.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the misty straw.
-This is so drinkable and the dosage of flavors is perfectly friendly; it’s impossible not to get a second pint.
-The hop signature is obviously from New Zealand.
-Thai curry based in coconut milk would be awesome with this.
-Hops also share salty, catty undertones.
-The citrusy angles are also lemongrass-like.
On cask at The Evening Star, Brighton.

Lightly hopped, dry in the finish - not full of character but incredibly light and drinkable, excellent as a summer ale.

Cask. Slightly hazy straw colour with just a touch of carbonation. Sweet candy aroma, hops and fruit. Good flavour - hoppy with pineapple and grapefruit with a touch of vegtable and bitterness. Crisp and light, good summer ale.
