Bottle courtesy of ACD, you date man Alex! Pours hazy gold with almost no head to speak of. Aroma is light acetic/lactic notes. Lightly nutty malt backbone with slight southeast. Finishes just a bit oily. I could drink 10 of these in a sitting. Thanks again Alex!

Bottle at William IV. Pale blond, not so much head. Aroma is sour and lemony, quite gueuze like. Impressive. Taste is decent enough, is this the same as the London Sour? Lemon again, not so much else, but decent. Maybe a bit creamy. Very easy drinking. Solid but bit unexciting.

33cl bottle. Pours light slightly hazy yellow with hardly any head and no lacing. Aroma is lemon, light cider vinegar, and slightly funky yeast. Taste is fairly tart lemon, lime, lemon peel, and a bit of yeast complexity (slight leather and vegetal notes). Fairly sour lemony aftertaste, but nothing too crazy. Tart and refreshing as the style was intended to be; haven’t had much experience of true Berliner Weisse, but this wasn’t a bad sour at all.

Cask (handpump) at Brodies festival, King William IV, Leyton on 8 April 2012. Pale straw colour. Thin and a little tart. Quite lemony. OK but didn’t grab me that much. Perhaps I just wasn’t in the mood for this sort of beer.

Cask - William IV, Leyton, London. Poured with a fine & disappearing white head on top of a cloudy dark yellow coloured body. Appley & astringent lemon all-round. Weak in the mid palate. Finished with traces of wheat, pale malt & biscuit character. Very low bitterness. A bit limp & lifeless on the palate - soft, light body, short tangy, lightly bitter finish. Didn’t do much for me.

Cask at William IV, London. Pours cloudy yellow with pretty much no head. Faint fruity nose. Very mild tang to the flavor with some citrus essence. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Tickles of tart fruit to the finish, lightly sweet with hints of grapefruit. Not a Berliner weisse, but an easy drinker.

Cask @ King William IV. Sour lemon yeast aroma. Cloudy yellow brown colour, not much head. Grassy bitter lemon flavour, sour aftertaste. Sorry this is not my sort of beer.

Scopey (3243) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2012 Bottle at Brodies. It pours hazy straw yellow, with a thin white head. The nose farmyard, touch of funk, tangy citrus, white bread, white grape, green apple and red bell pepper. The taste is only light sour (a bit disappointing to be honest), straw, lemon, ginger, white grape, melon, green apple and white bread, with some dryness in the finish. Light body and light carbonation. Everything was quite subtle, but tasty and easy drinking nonetheless.
