Alecwallace (155) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2013
Dark brown/black with no head. The aroma is sweet vanilla and spirit like. The flavour is chocolate, vanilla, liquorice, wood and some roast. The beer is quite thin but is so smooth and drinks well below 9% abv. A bit of body short of superb.

Bottle from Beer Hive, Edinburgh [010813]
Black, thin tan head, some lacing
Aroma - Rich dark smooth roast, dark chocolate, smooth coffee, little woody, very smooth, alcohol well hidden
Taste - Smooth rich dark malts, soft mellow rich roast, deep dark chocolate, soft mellow coffee, very smooth, little woody, not really getting the bourbon, alcohol so well hidden, taste not that complex - all the flavours are revealed pretty quickly but it’s very nice
Palate - Very soft carb, medium body, oily, very smooth, soft sweet dark malts, not too sweet, very well balanced, body is a little thin though
Overall - This is so so smooth and so easy to drink at the abv, but got less complex with the drinking - but still a very good imperial stout

RichTheVillan (3138) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2013
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with quickly dissipating tan head, big alcohol aroma, taste that hits you first is bourbon that leads to the sweet stout underneath the bourbon doesn’t overwhelm like some BA beers can, taste also has vanilla, great viscous mouthfeel.

Bottle on the Black Country Train Tasting Part DEUX, 06/07/13, thanks to Jack for this London rarity purchased in Birmingham for less than you’d get it for down saarf ! Light black with a thin tan head that clears edgeward. Nose is oaky woody, milk chocolate, mineral notes. Taste comprises chocolate maltesers, Dairy Milk, woody notes, light minerals. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry finish. Solid stuff - notes say "decent impy". Shouldn’t this be an Impy?????

Bottle. Dark with a small head. Creamy chocolate and coffee flavours which were powerful yet very easy to drink. Left no lacing and was well bottled. Seriously impressive.

Poured an oily deep and dark brown, virtually black, no head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Full body, slips down very easily, flavour is as the aroma,
