Cask conditioned handpump Old Coffee House London 03/05/13. A very pale beer with a whitish ring of head. Citra like hopping in this. Sharp and mango like. Good malt backbone balance. Tasty and very refreshing in a hot day. Another good un from Brodies.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Opened and took a big sniff and was hit by hoppy deliciousness. Nice hues on the pour, a cascade of molten orange with subdued tones of Armageddon. An explosion of fruit on the lips melting away to leave a residue of satisfying bitterness. A smidgen of head followed the meander down the receptacle. But... something was absent, only a couscous away but the competition sniffed.

Keg: half-pint in Brodies King William 1V on 16 Feb 2013.
Another brodies beer I struggled with: light golden straw coloured brew with a thin head of white on top.
Mixed bag of aromas and flavours but they didn’t seem to gell. Fruit notes ( a twist of lemon with mangos maybe?) and semi-sweet caramel hints added to an unbalanced and strange tasting brew.

Cask @ Old Coffee House, small creamy head, clear golden lager like colour, light piney aroma, flowery soap and touches of malt, flowery herbal flavour, strong bitterness. Quite drinkable but not overly exciting.

Cross Keys, Covent Garden. Just before going to see The Mousetrap. pale and citric. Boldly citric but not aggressive. Watery body for 5%. Clean. OK. Lingering dusty hops.

In nearly 35 years of drinking, this by far and away one of the worst drinks I’ve ever come across.
I joined this site to specifcally warn people of this noxious brew whose taste is a combination of earwax and grapefruit
The pint I bought was in The Cross Keys, Covent Garden last night - I managed two mouthfuls before feeling uncontrollably sick which only a bad pint of Directors managed 30 years ago.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 imdownthepub (8492) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2012
Cask conditioned at The Cross Keys, Covent Garden, London. Hazed gold with white head. The beer was fairly opaque, but there was a hoppy fruity aroma that promised much. The actual flavour didn’t quite live up to this, but there was a bitter sweet element, some tropical fruits, orange and a herby note. A pretty decent beer but not totally convinced with the condition.

Cask (handpump) at the King William IV, Leyton on 6 April 2012. Hazy straw colour. Appealing floral hop aroma. Quite slick mouthfeel. Loads of good tangy hops on the palate. Quite resinous. Excellent drinking.
